On 5th June, MSc in Energy Management (MEM) students and alumni gathered for the second MEM Alumni Night of the year. Following the success of the London gathering in March, this Paris edition was organised by the ESCP Energy Society and took place at Quai de la Photo - a péniche dedicated to art and cultural exhibitions on the Seine - setting the stage for casual conversations and connections.
The event brought together an enthusiastic group of young professionals working in the industry for an evening of reconnecting, exchanging advice, and celebrating the strength of the MEM community. Despite the rainy weather, the energy remained high. With a strong turnout and a lively atmosphere, the evening fostered meaningful exchanges between current students and alumni working across diverse sectors, including energy finance, renewables, policy, and consulting.
The event started with a brief welcome by Andreas Kristensen, President of the Energy Society. He thanked all the alumni and current students for joining this celebration. He also highlighted some of the Society’s key initiatives this year, ranging from site visits at a solar park in the UK and a nuclear power plant in France, and talent showcases of the MEM group, to expert-led webinars with leading figures from the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vårgrønn, and Elia Group.
The evening naturally unfolded into lively exchanges as participants mingled in small groups. The atmosphere was a perfect balance between casual and meaningful as the alumni and students exchanged stories and career insights over drinks. For students, it was an opportunity to explore potential career paths, gain industry-specific perspectives, and build connections within the broader MEM network in a relaxed and supportive setting.
It was also a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand what life after MEM looks like. The alumni generously shared tips for navigating the job market and encouraging words as people who once stood in their shoes. It was also a great opportunity for them to rekindle their connections and to build new networks with current students and alumni from different classes.
"The event was a great experience, especially for someone like me who’s looking to expand their network in France and especially in Paris. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with others. I also really appreciated the diversity of alumni profiles: I had the chance to hear about a variety of career paths and experiences, which gave me a better idea of what the future might hold for me." - Amira Zennaki, MSc. Energy Management Student.
"I really enjoyed the Alumni Event, it was very well organised, and the setting was perfect for the occasion. It was also great to see so many alumni attend, which shows there’s a strong bond between them and ESCP." - Mia Pfuderer, MSc. Energy Management Student.
We thank all participants for joining us and look forward to more events that strengthen the MEM community!
